Hi! I am in Australia. My husband is about to start using chrysin to help with his prostate cancer since it’s turning out estrogen just as it is in breast cancer. T
he thing I wanted to point out is that the chrysin he has started using is in gel form, made by a compounding pharmacist. He rubs it on his skin. This circumvents all the problems with stomach acid, liver etc.
No reports as to effectiveness yet, but maybe knowing a gel can be used will be helpful?

My son is 28 and receiving bio-identical testosterone. His testosterone level was extremely low (under 200), and really never kicked in as a result of an emergency testicular surgery at age 12. He received 1200 mg of testosterone via pellet implant, but when blood work results followed, he was aromatasing-converting the testosterone to estrogen. Doc put him on androzole (sp?), just two pills a week for three weeks, then started him on Chrysin and Zinc. His levels climbed and he stopped the aromatase cycle. It is a slow process, however. The gel sounds like a good alternative, as I use it too, and take many other supplements, so the “bypass” of body functions is appealing. I will ask my Doc for it in my next prescription.

Here’s my story in a nutshell. I’ve always been a gym rat and now I’m 63 and have always wanted to try steriods for bodybuilding but was too smart to do illegal bodybuilding drugs. However, my last T level was 231. My PA (under a MD’s counsel) prescribed Androgel which did not work to raise my T levels. I then was prescribed once weekly injections of Test Cypionate, which, after 5 weeks brought my T level to over 1000. This made me feel GREAT and I gained 8 lbs, from 157 to 165 with a bodyfat of 13%. Needless to say I am now on Chrysin, 200mg/ml lipoderm cream, and Anastrozole, 1mg/day for 10 days, all to regulate my Test/Estrogen levels to normal. My Estrogen was around 327. I will let you know in two weeks what has happened. The Chrysin, in this form is easy to apply. We’ll see….

Just an update. Chrysin working well. T levels are normalizing. Recommend the gel rather than lipoderm.

I have been on a Testosterone supplement, a topical mixed compound by a pharmacist for over two years at first having to pay for it myself because my insurance company would not pay for it. They would pay for Androgel, which was $400.00/month and didn’t work in fact lowered my number from 350 down to 300. The topical mixed compound is 40.00/month. I finially convinced my insurance company to stop acting like a insurance company and stop paying more money for something that didn’t work and save money with something that did work. It was hard because you know how insurance companies can be, they like to waste money and would rather cut back on quality in doing it, but I told them I was only one person and they were only saving $360.00/month and that to a insurance company that really isn’t that much savings and wouldn’t hurt their repretation of stepping over dollars to pick up dimes also I told them I wouldn’t tell anybody, I lied. My doctor just added Chrysin to my compound but for two years I haven’t noticed any problems associated with the need to have Chrysin added to it but I guess it can’t hurt.
